Driving Nygaia

The demand for sustainable, high-tech horticulture systems is growing rapidly. As a result, the requirements for growing media are evolving too. Today’s high-tech growers seek more control and a substrate that is both sustainable and high-performing. Nygaia is the answer to that transition.

Nygaia is a total concept
Nygaia supports responsible cultivation, but the real impact goes far beyond that. Many conventional substrates rely on finite resources, whose extraction involves significant CO₂ emissions and high energy consumption. Add to that the fact that countless containers are shipped across the globe every day to supply growers, and it becomes clear: things need to change. That’s why we took an integrated approach when developing Nygaia. A total solution that combines a biodegradable and partially renewable substrate with smart automation for local (on-site) production. Good for your crops—and for the planet.

Nygaia Plugline

With the Nygaia Plugline, growers produce their own substrate on-site and fully tailored to their specific crop needs.
Autonomous, scalable, and offering maximum control over shape, fiber density, and production speed. This ensures a constant supply of fresh substrate, reduces transport movements by up to 40 times, lowers dependency on deliveries, eliminates overproduction, and maintains consistently high plug quality. The current Plugline consists of three modules: the Nygaia Printer, the Nygaia Converter, and the Nygaia Trayfiller. The Nygaia Plugline can be integrated into a (pre-existing) automated planting line.
